| Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) |
Methodist College Kuala Lumpur introduced the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programme as part of the pre-university programme since year 2000. The 11-month AUSMAT programme is offered by the Curriculum Council of Western Australia and is well-structured with a balanced emphasis on coursework and a final written examination.
Academics scores are based on on-going internal assessment and a final Tertiary Entrance Examination (TEE) to be held in November. Successful students are awarded the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
The AUSMAT qualification is internationally recognised for admission of students to renowned universities in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States, UK, Singapore and many other foreign countries, as well as to local private institutions of higher learning. Numerous Methodist College students have gone to study mass communication, commerce, biotechnology, engineering, and other interesting courses especially in Australia and Singapore. They have gone on to take on lucrative and interesting jobs at home and overseas.
