GCE Advanced Level (A-Level)

EdExcel U.K.Methodist College Kuala Lumpur is one of the pioneers in Kuala Lumpur for the A-level programmme offered by Edexcel International, U.K. which recognizes the College as an international centre of learning. Since 1983, Methodist College has produced an excellent track record with more than 25 years of experience in pre-university education.

This pre-university course gives entry qualifications to a wide range of courses in prestigious universities in the world. With appropriate grades in the required subjects you can study medicine, finance, engineering, psychology, law, actuarial science, economics, biotechnology and other courses in world class universities, both at home and abroad.

Our students have gained admissions to renowned universities such as Cambridge, Imperial College, London School of Economics, Brown, Sydney and the National University of Singapore. They have gone on to find challenging jobs and satisfying careers as doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, chemists, pharmacists and psychologists.

Students are required to take a minimum of 3 subjects and a maximum of 4. While subject combinations are left to the student's interest and degree requirements of the different universities, certain subjects combinations may not be possible due to the clashes occuring in the student's timetable. ASSESSMENT

100% external modular examinations.
Examinations are held every January and June; retake of each module permitted to improve on subject grade

  • Bahasa Kebangsaan A
  • Malaysian Studies (Taught in English)
  • Pengajian Islam or Pendidikan Moral (Taught in English)
All Malaysian Students are required to take MQA subjects. Bahasa Malaysia is only required for students who do not have a credit in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level.
