Easter Rally 2012

Easter – it is not surprising for one to think about colourful eggs and bunnies during this often festive season. However, there is a more solemn aspect to the story of Easter – the story of how Jesus Christ had died on the cross for our sins, and the joy that we all feel when we realise that death could not hold Him, for He rose again on the third day.

MCKL Suit Up Day 2012

A year and a half has passed, and despite the trials and tribulations, or, perhaps because of them, these students have plenty of reason to celebrate their time in college. In keeping with recent tradition, Suit Up Day was held on the 30th of April to mark the end of their semester, and to provide a brief respite before their final hurdle in the exams.

MOE Bursary holders can now study at Methodist College Kuala Lumpur!

Student who obtained 9A+ and above in their 2011 SPM Examinations may sign up at MCKL for their A-Levels programme on the Ministry of Education, Malaysia Student Bursary. A free new iPad will be given to students who register before the 21st of May, 2012.

Treasure Hunt 2012

24th March 2012 marked of as an enormous success to Methodist College Kuala Lumpur’s 9th Annual Treasure Hunt. The event that has been a success for nine years in a row inundated the streets of Kuala Lumpur with Treasure Hunters in hot pursuit of the biggest, the most exciting and the most challenging treasure trail thus far.

A Visit from the UK’s Top Universities

On 28th February 2012, MCKL was visited by Dr Jan Stockdale, Penny Zorbas, Emma Gutteridge and Helen Challis – representatives from London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL), King’s College and Imperial College, respectively. They had come to speak to our students about their universities and what our students stand to gain from pursuing further study in the UK.

Yale-NUS Visit

On the 5th of October, MCKL was visited by a couple of admission officers from Yale-NUS who came to speak to our students about their university. The auditorium was jam-packed with students eager to find out more about the prestigious university, which is ranked top ten in the world. MCKL was privileged enough to be one of the few education institutions that the representatives of Yale-NUS visited. The good name of MCKL came to their attention via former MCKL student, Chew Kwang Liang, who was the only Malaysian student accepted into Yale University in the fall of 2011.

Ramu and Chulian

Never thought we had it in us… but we had a dream and we did make a very strong (And successful!) attempt to achieve it. MCKL’s first musical, staged by the Performing Arts Club… the team set off not knowing what would be in store for them.
